Service Area: Chippewa Falls City Limits Service Hours: Monday – Friday 5:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Saturday, Sunday & Holidays 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Reduced Fares: Seniors and Disabled are eligible for reduced fares during scheduled hours. Reduced fare cards and Medicare cards are honored to receive reduced fares. Reduced fare cards are available at the Transit Office in City Hall, 30 W. Central St. Program Description: The Chippewa Falls Shared Ride Taxi Program is a demand response, door-to-door public transportation service. “Shared-Ride” means that you may travel with more than one passenger with different destinations and/or origins. The program operates within the Chippewa Falls city limits. The program is administered by the Chippewa Falls Transit Board and City Council. The City is responsible for determining the fares, days, hours of the service, and ultimately all facets of the program’s operation. The City contracts with a private transit company to provide the service. The service company is selected through a competitive bidding process, and the City must solicit bids every five years. Funding for the service comes from four sources. These include the Federal Transit Administration, the State of Wisconsin, the City of Chippewa Falls, and you – the rider through your fares. Fares: Fare Category Cash Fare (1) Adult 2.50 Student (2) 1.50 Seniors (3) 1.50 Reduced fare (4) 1.50 Disabled (5) 1.50 Reduced Fare 1.50 1 Per trip, per person 2 Student- Persons aged 5 through 18. Children under five ride free with an adult. 3 Seniors – Persons aged 65 or older. 4 Reduced Fare Hours: Monday – Friday 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays* 6:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. * Holidays include New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. 5 Disabled – Reduced fare card required. You are encouraged to call for a ride well in advance to ensure the service can accommodate your request. You are also encouraged to give yourself plenty of time to arrive at your destination by arranging the time of your ride to allow for unforeseen delays such as Shared Ride route deviations, bad weather, or high use of the service during certain times of the day.
