Recycling Guidelines
Since January 1, 1999 the City of
Please set out recyclables by 5:30 a.m.
or the night before your scheduled pickup.
DO NOT PUT ITEMS IN PLASTIC BAGS.
Commingled Containers
Place your metal (tin) cans, glass bottles and
plastic bottles loosely in your recycling bin on a commingled basis - no
separation is required!
DO NOT USE PLASTIC BAGS OR CARDBOARD BOXES.
All containers should be rinsed clean and lids
removed.
Steel (Tin) Cans
Aluminum Cans
Glass Bottles & Jars
• No window glass, light bulbs, mirrors,
ceramics or other glass
#1 & #2 Plastic Bottles
• Examples: soda bottles, milk jugs and
laundry detergent bottles
Commingled Paper Products
Place the following commingled paper materials
in a brown paper bag (grocery bag) and then into the recycling bin or
other sturdy container. DO NOT USE PLASTIC BAGS OR CARDBOARD BOXES.
Magazines & Catalogues Newspapers
Phone Books Paper Grocery Bags
Mixed Paper
• Junk Mail (remove any plastic)
• Books
• Envelopes (window, labeled, kraft)
• Office paper (white, colored, ledger, NCR,
fax)
• File folders
• Glue pads, tablets
• Post-It notes
Corrugated Cardboard
Flatten and cut into 2’ x 2’ sections and place
beside bin. Do not include gray cardboard items such as pop and beer cases
and cereal boxes.
Scrap Metal
A scrap metal box will be made available during
future Chippewa County Household Hazardous Waste Clean Sweep events which are
held at the Northern Wisconsin State Fairgrounds in
Yard Waste Site
Residents may dispose of yard waste (leaves,
grass clippings, and small brush) at the Chippewa Falls City Shop at
Waste Oil
Waste motor oil should be disposed of properly
at the following location. Recycle engine oil only. Do not mix the oil with any
other substances such as antifreeze or paint thinner. Take your empty containers
home with you.
24 Hour drop-off available with outside dump.
